Halsey admitiu em um post sincero nas redes sociais que muitas vezes se pergunta se "escolheu a vida errada" para si mesma.
Em um post reflexivo no Instagram Stories nesta quarta-feira, o cantor do Without Me, que usa os pronomes she/they, admitiu que sentiu "uma tristeza profunda" e se perguntou se havia feito a escolha certa em seguir a carreira musical.
"Descobri que muitas vezes há uma profunda tristeza dentro de mim que nenhuma quantidade de prazer mundano pode tocar. uma solidão. um vazio", escreveu Halsey ao lado de uma foto de velas acesas. "Muitas vezes me pergunto se escolhi a vida errada para mim. E o peso dela é sufocante. Lamento que a melancolia tenha penetrado na minha arte de uma maneira que não serviu a um propósito maior além de minha auto-aversão."
A estrela, que sofre de transtorno bipolar, indicou que seu aniversário de 28 anos, em 29 de setembro, motivou seu momento de reflexão.
"Estou me aproximando do meu aniversário de 28 anos em uma semana e agora exalando e ofegando pela primeira vez desde que respirei nesta nova vida aos 18 anos. Uma respiração que deveria me sustentar por uma década", escreveram eles. .
Halsey acrescentou que ela está "vagando sem lei" e espera encontrar seu caminho "em algum lugar significativo em breve", porque ela quer dar a seus fãs sua habitual música corajosa e feroz, mas teme que suas entranhas estejam "enrugando ultimamente".
Eles concluíram seu post escrevendo: "Se você não pode ser gentil, pelo menos seja gentil. Com amor".

Halsey has admitted in a candid social media post that she often wonders if she "chose the wrong life" for herself.
In a reflective post on Instagram Stories on Wednesday, the Without Me singer, who uses she/they pronouns, admitted they felt "a deep sadness" and wondered if they had made the right choice in pursuing a music career.
"I find that often there is a deep sadness inside me that no amount of worldly pleasure can touch. a loneliness. an emptiness," Halsey wrote beside a picture of burning candles. "I wonder often if I chose the wrong life for myself. And the weight of it is suffocating. I'm sorry that melancholy has penetrated my art in a way that hasn't served a greater purpose other than my own self loathing."
The star, who suffers from bipolar disorder, indicated that her upcoming 28th birthday on 29 September has prompted her moment of reflection.
"I am approaching my 28th birthday in a week and just now exhaling and gasping for air for the first time since I took a single breath in this new life at 18. A breath that was meant to sustain me for a decade," they wrote.
Halsey added that she has been "wandering lawlessly" and hopes to find her path "somewhere meaningful soon" because she wants to give her fans her usual brave and fierce music but fears her guts are "shriveling lately".
They concluded their post by writing, "If you cannot be kind, at least be gentle. With love."
