Stevie Nicks exigiu que ela fosse transformada em um "gorila honorário" se ela aparecesse em seu álbum 'Cracker Island'.
A lenda do Fleetwood Mac aparece na faixa 'Oil' no próximo LP da banda animada de Damon Albarn e do artista Jamie Hewlett, e ela revelou que pediu para ter seu próprio desenho animado no videoclipe.
Falando com Zane Lowe no Apple Music 1, ela disse: “Bem, eu tenho que te dizer, foi realmente ótimo.
“Porque [o co-produtor de ‘Cracker Island’] Greg Kurstin enviou [a música] para mim. Ligo de volta para Greg e digo: ‘Ah, acho que essa agora é nossa nova música favorita, e ainda nem cantei nela. Mas sim, eu adoraria fazer isso.
“Aprendi essa música como se a tivesse escrito e como se fosse um inglês, com aquele sotaque. E eu amo muito isso.”
Gorillaz é composto por membros da banda de desenho animado Murdoc Niccals, 2-D, Noodle e Russel Hobbs.
A hitmaker de 'Go Your Own Way' - que fez turnê com Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers e Foo Fighters no passado - falou sobre seu alter ego de desenho animado: Eu quero ter o cabelo loiro, certo? Então, foi isso que eu disse. E assim, eles estão fazendo isso enquanto falamos. E a música inteira é… acho que essa música está em algum lugar entre o amor e a guerra.”
Ela acrescentou: “Mal posso esperar até que seja lançado porque estou muito orgulhosa disso. Agora, eu era um Heartbreaker honorário. Eu era um Foo Fighter honorário. E agora, sou um gorila honorário. Eu estou tão feliz."
'Cracker Island' deve ser lançado em 24 de fevereiro de 2023 e é a continuação do LP de 2020 'Song Machine, Season One: Strange Timez'.
O álbum incluirá a faixa-título, que apresenta Thundercat, além de músicas com Bad Bunny, Beck e o lançado anteriormente 'New Gold' com Tame Impala e Bootie Brown.

Stevie Nicks demanded she be made into an "honorary Gorilla" if she was to feature on their album 'Cracker Island'.
The Fleetwood Mac legend appears on the track 'Oil' on Damon Albarn and artist Jamie Hewlett's animated band's upcoming LP, and she has revealed she requested she have her own cartoon in the music video.
Speaking to Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, she said: “Well, I have to tell you, it was really great.
“Because [‘Cracker Island’ co-producer] Greg Kurstin sent [the song] to me. I call Greg back, and I go, ‘Oh, I think this is now our new favourite song, and I haven’t even sung on it yet. But yes, I would love to do this.'
“I learned that song as if I had written that song and as if I was an Englishman, with that accent. And I love it so much.”
Gorillaz is made up of cartoon band members Murdoc Niccals, 2-D, Noodle, and Russel Hobbs.
The 'Go Your Own Way' hitmaker - who toured with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and Foo Fighters in the past - spilled about her cartoon alter ego: “I want to be a Gorilla, and I want to have big, false eyelashes, and I want to have blonde hair, right? So, that’s what I said. And so, they’re doing it as we speak. And the whole song is … I think that song is somewhere between love and war.”
She added: “I can’t wait till it comes out because I’m so proud of it. Now, I was an honorary Heartbreaker. I was an honorary Foo Fighter. And now, I’m an honorary Gorilla. I’m so happy.”
'Cracker Island' is due for release on February 24, 2023, and is the follow-up to their 2020 LP 'Song Machine, Season One: Strange Timez'.
The album will include the titular track, which features Thundercat, plus songs with Bad Bunny, Beck, and the previously released 'New Gold' with Tame Impala and Bootie Brown.
