Peter Hook & The Light anunciaram datas adicionais para ‘Joy Division: A Celebration’ em abril de 2023 – veja a lista completa de datas abaixo.

Após os shows de 'Joy Division: A Celebration' no Reino Unido, Europa e América do Norte ao longo de 2022, a banda anunciou mais nove datas no Reino Unido, começando em Edimburgo em 13 de abril e terminando em Somerset em 29 de abril. , 11 de novembro às 10h.

Os shows do ‘Joy Division: A Celebration’ foram planejados para “comemorar quatro décadas de influência da banda e de Ian Curtis”. A banda apresentará Unknown Pleasures e Closer na íntegra, com um set de abertura do New Order.

No início deste ano, Peter Hook ajudou a revelar um novo mural do colega de banda do Joy Division, Ian Curtis, no centro da cidade de Macclesfield.

“Na verdade, estou muito honrado por estar aqui e fazer isso, porque para mim já é hora de Ian voltar para casa”, disse o baixista e cofundador do New Order.

Em agosto, Hook disse que deveria haver um memorial permanente para Curtis em Manchester. Ele veio depois que um mural muito amado de Curtis no Northern Quarter da cidade foi pintado por um anúncio do novo álbum de Aitch.

Aitch respondeu rapidamente que iria “consertar” o problema, dizendo que não tinha ideia de que o anúncio estava sendo colocado sobre o mural.

“Temos que ter em mente que é um site de publicidade, foi pago pelo Mental Health Day por um determinado período”, disse Hook em resposta à notícia.

“Os negócios seguem em frente e não é de admirar que Aitch não soubesse disso, pois provavelmente foi feito pela empresa que cuida de sua publicidade”, continuou ele. “Sinto pena do cara porque ele ficou tão magoado com a reação óbvia, foi uma situação terrível para ele.”

Peter Hook & The Light have announced additional dates for ‘Joy Division: A Celebration’ in April 2023 – find the full list of dates below.

Following ‘Joy Division: A Celebration’ shows across the UK, Europe and North America throughout 2022, the band have now announced nine more UK dates, starting in Edinburgh on April 13 and wrapping in Somerset on April 29. Tickets go on sale on Friday, November 11 at 10am.

The ‘Joy Division: A Celebration’ shows were planned to “commemorate four decades of the band’s and Ian Curtis’ influence”. The band will perform Unknown Pleasures and Closer in full, with an opening set of New Order material.

Earlier this year, Peter Hook helped unveil a new mural of Joy Division bandmate Ian Curtis in Macclesfield town centre.

“I am actually very honoured to be here, and to do this, because to me it’s about time Ian came home,” the bassist and co-founder of New Order said.

In August, Hook has said there should be a permanent memorial to Curtis in Manchester. It came after a much loved mural of Curtis in the city’s Northern Quarter was painted over by an advertisement for Aitch’s new album.

Aitch quickly responded that he would “fix” the issue, saying he had no idea that the advertisement was being placed over the mural.

“We have to bear in mind that it is an advertising site, it was paid for by Mental Health Day for a certain period,” Hook said in response to the news.

“Business moves on and so it’s no wonder Aitch didn’t know about it as it was probably done by the company who looks after his advertising,” he continued. “I feel sorry for the guy because he was so hurt by the obvious reaction, it was a terrible situation for him.”
