Kate Bush, Iron Maiden, Rage Against the Machine, Joy Division/New Order e Warren Zevon estão entre os artistas indicados para entrar no Hall da Fama do Rock & Roll como parte da turma de 2023.
George Michael, Soundgarden, A Tribe Called Quest, Willie Nelson, Missy Elliott, Cyndi Lauper, The Spinners, Sheryl Crow e The White Stripes também estão em potencial indução ainda este ano.
É a quarta vez que Kate Bush é indicada – as ocasiões anteriores foram em 2018, 2021 e 2022. A indicação ocorre após um dos anos de maior sucesso de Bush, apesar de não ter lançado nenhuma música nova. Seu single de 1985, Running Up That Hill, alcançou o Top 10 da Billboard Hot 100 e alcançou o primeiro lugar no Reino Unido após seu uso no programa da Netflix, Stranger Things.
A turma de 2023 do Hall da Fama do Rock & Roll será anunciada em maio. A cerimônia de posse do Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2023 acontecerá no outono.
Em uma declaração sobre os indicados de 2023, o presidente da Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, John Sykes, disse: “Esta notável lista de indicados reflete os diversos artistas e músicas que o Rock & Roll Hall of Fame homenageia e celebra. Esses artistas criaram seus próprios sons que impactaram gerações e influenciaram inúmeras outras pessoas que seguiram seus passos.”
No ano passado, Eminem, Dolly Parton, Pat Benatar e Neil Giraldo, Duran Duran, Eurythmics, Lionel Richie e Carly Simon foram introduzidos no Hall da Fama do Rock & Roll.

George Michael, Soundgarden, A Tribe Called Quest, Willie Nelson, Missy Elliott, Cyndi Lauper, The Spinners, Sheryl Crow, and The White Stripes are also up for potential induction later this year.
It’s the fourth time Kate Bush has been nominated – the previous occasions were in 2018, 2021, and 2022. The nod comes after one of Bush’s most successful years, despite not having released any new music. Her 1985 single Running Up That Hill hit the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 and made it to No 1 in the United Kingdom following its use in the Netflix show Stranger Things.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s class of 2023 will be announced in May. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2023 Induction Ceremony will take place in the the autumn.
In a statement about the 2023 nominees, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation’s chairman, John Sykes, said, “This remarkable list of nominees reflects the diverse artists and music that the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame honors and celebrates. These artists have created their own sounds that have impacted generations and influenced countless others that have followed in their footsteps.”
Last year, Eminem, Dolly Parton, Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo, Duran Duran, Eurythmics, Lionel Richie, and Carly Simon were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
