David Byrne compartilhou uma lista de reprodução intitulada Music for Valentines, com Weyes Blood, Billie Eilish, FKA twigs e muitos mais.
O ex-cantor do Talking Heads escreveu como introdução: “Esta lista de reprodução consiste principalmente em músicas recentes que adicionei às minhas listas de reprodução. Alguns desses artistas e músicas me foram mencionados por amigos, jornais e algoritmos. Nem todas são canções de amor, mas muitas delas são muito populares!
“Quem foi São Valentim? Bem, ele foi um mártir na Roma do século III. Ele agora é o santo padroeiro dos asmáticos e dos apicultores... e dos amantes!
“Ele era um ávido proselitista cristão e foi preso pelas autoridades romanas em mais de uma ocasião. Um juiz pediu que ele fizesse um milagre e restaurasse a visão de sua filha - o que ele fez e, em troca, o juiz e toda a sua família converteram e destruíram todas as suas adoráveis estátuas - por sugestão de Valentine.
“Mais tarde, Valentine foi preso novamente – desta vez ele não teve tanta sorte. Sua sentença foi ser espancado por paus e depois decapitado. Antes de sua execução, ele escreveu para a filha ex-cega um bilhete assinado “do seu namorado”.

David Byrne has shared a playlist titled Music for Valentines, featuring Weyes Blood, Billie Eilish, FKA twigs, and many more.
The former Talking Heads singer wrote by way of introduction, “This playlist consists mostly of recent songs I’ve added to my playlists. Some of these artists and songs were mentioned to me by friends, newspapers, and algorithms. They are not all love songs, but many of them are very popular!
“Who was Saint Valentine? Well, he was a martyr in 3rd century Rome. He is now the patron saint of asthma sufferers and beekeepers… and lovers!
“He was an avid christian proselytizer, and was arrested by roman authorities on more than one occasion. One judge asked him to perform a miracle and restore his daughter’s sight- which he did, and in return the judge and his entire family converted and smashed all of their lovely statues- per Valentine’s suggestion.
“Later, Valentine was arrested again – this time he wasn’t so lucky. His sentence was to be beaten by clubs and then beheaded. Before his execution, he wrote to the formerly blind daughter a note signed “from your Valentine”.”
