Dolly Parton revelou que recusou um convite para o chá da tarde com Catherine, Princesa de Gales.
Durante uma aparição na BBC Radio 2, a superestrela country revelou que recusou o convite durante uma recente viagem de trabalho a Londres.
“Desta vez, meu Deus, até fui convidado para tomar chá com Kate, mas não pude ir”, disse o homem de 77 anos à apresentadora e apresentadora Claudia Winkleman.
“Achei muito gentil e gentil da parte dela me convidar e um dia desses farei isso - seria ótimo”, continuou a cantora.
Dolly brincou dizendo que recusou o prestigiado convite porque a Princesa de Gales não iria promover seu novo álbum.
“Mas ela não iria promover meu álbum de rock, então eu tive que dizer não”, brincou o hitmaker Here You Come Again.
Dolly disse a Claudia que muitas vezes não tem tempo suficiente para conhecer a cidade enquanto está em Londres a trabalho.
"Eu amo as pessoas, a sensação de Londres. Infelizmente, não tenho tempo para passear. No passado, eu e minha banda, viajamos em um ônibus de turnê quando planejamos."
Dolly deve lançar seu 49º álbum de estúdio, intitulado Rockstar, em 17 de novembro. O álbum inclui colaborações com vários ícones da música, incluindo Sir Paul McCartney, Ringo Star, Stevie Nicks, Elton John e Sting.

Dolly Parton has revealed she turned down an invitation for afternoon tea with Catherine, Princess of Wales.
During an appearance on BBC Radio 2, the country superstar revealed that she declined the invitation while on a recent work trip in London.
"This time, Lordy, I even got invited to have tea with Kate but I couldn't even go," the 77-year-old told presenter and host Claudia Winkleman.
"I thought it was very sweet and nice of her to invite me and one of these days I'm going to get to do that - that would be great," the singer continued.
Dolly joked that she declined the prestigious invite because the Princess of Wales would not promote her new album.
"But she wasn't going to promote my rock album so I had to say no," the Here You Come Again hitmaker quipped.
Dolly told Claudia that often does not have enough time to see the city while in London for work.
"I love the people, the feel of London. I don't unfortunately (get time to sightsee). I have in the past, me and my band, in a tour bus when we have it planned."
Dolly is set to release her 49th studio album, titled Rockstar, on 17 November. The album includes collaborations with a number of music icons, including Sir Paul McCartney, Ringo Star, Stevie Nicks, Elton John and Sting.
