Gwen Stefani admitiu que se sente “quase culpada” por sua ambição.
A hitmaker de 54 anos falou sobre como seu estilo de composição difere de outros músicos.
Em uma entrevista recente ao Nylon, a estrela do No Doubt admitiu que às vezes sente uma pontada de ciúme de outros cantores que conseguem sucessos feitos sob medida para eles. No entanto, quando ela tentou trabalhar com uma equipe de compositores e produtores para fazer sucesso, os resultados não foram autênticos.
“Muitos dos escritores pop com quem trabalhei começaram a ficar muito diferentes da maneira como escrevo”, disse ela à publicação. “Eu estava tipo, 'Por que você está contando sílabas?' Ou eles estavam se esforçando tanto para acertar, e eu pensei: 'Não estou perseguindo isso.' Um sucesso é a melhor coisa do mundo, mas tem que vir do nada."
Gwen então explicou que às vezes ela se sente “culpada” por ser incapaz de desligar seu impulso criativo.
“Quase me sinto culpado por isso, ou como se tivesse que justificar ou me sinto mal por estar fazendo isso”, disse a cantora do Sweet Escape sobre a criação de novas músicas. “Tipo, 'Você deveria simplesmente seguir com sua vida'. Mas eu realmente ainda quero fazer isso!"
Ela acrescentou: "Quero viver meu propósito. Não quero ser ganancioso. Ainda quero contribuir. Não sei".

The 54-year-old hitmaker has opened up about how her writing style differs from other musicians.
In a recent interview with Nylon, the No Doubt star admitted that she sometimes feels a tinge of jealousy towards other singers who get hits tailor-made for them. However, when she has tried to work with a team of songwriters and producers to make a hit, the results have been inauthentic.
"A lot of the pop writers that I'd worked with started getting really different from the way I write," she told the publication. "I was like, 'Why are you counting syllables?' Or they were trying so hard to go for a hit, where I'm like: 'I'm not chasing that.' A hit is the greatest thing in the world, but it has to be from nowhere."
Gwen then explained that she sometimes feels "guilty" about being unable to turn off her creative drive.
"I almost feel guilty about it, or like I have to justify it or feel bad that I'm doing it," the Sweet Escape singer said of creating new music. "Like, 'You should just get on with your life.' But I really still want to do it!"
She added, "I want to live my purpose. I don't want to be greedy. I want to contribute still. I don't know."
